1. Join our TPA Meeting Monday, October 2nd
Join us in the Thunderdome Conference Room in Building A, opposite the Main Office, with an entrance facing the Softball fields or via Zoom Meeting ID 545 866 8889 or the Zoom link below.
We could do more passive fundraising through direct requests for money or charging membership dues. It would be easier. Decades ago, the ladies leading our volunteer group decided to merge fundraising with community building, thus FUNdraising. Bringing people together at our Silent Auction Party (January 12th), Thunderbird Golf Classic (Jan 14th), Wine & Whiskey event (Feb 10th), Casino Night (March 2nd), and Ladies Night in April is a fun way to build our community. Those ladies got it right. We must raise money to fund scholarships, invest in our classrooms, and support our students. Without community, how much is all that worth? Community is the key ingredient, and FUNdraising parties help us raise the money we need to help Thunderbird High School while investing in the community that makes our school unique. So, find dates that work, grab tickets, or volunteer for the event, and let’s have fun raising funds.
3. Please gather Silent Auction donations
Our Silent Auction donation request letter is available on the TPA website via the download donation request link below. Please work with businesses to gather donations of gift cards, services, or other items of value that we may place in our silent auction. Each business donating something for our auction will receive thank you messages through our communication channels, providing them with valuable community advertising while helping our 100% volunteer-run not-for-profit organization.
4. Join us at our first annual Homecoming Parade Family Tent
Our TPA is hosting Family Tent(s) at the Homecoming Parade. Look for our tent(s) along the pick-up line parking lot side of Building A, probably in front of the Practice Gym with chairs, some waters, and maybe some snacks where we can gather to enjoy the Homecoming Parade. Carpool to the school if you can as parking will be tough to find. Contact president@tbirdcpa.com with questions about the Family Tents or to offer your tent or chairs.
5. Class of 2024 Bowling Event
Our fantastic parent volunteers worked with STUGO and Let it Roll located at 12th Street just south of Dunlap, to organize a fun event for our Thunderbird Seniors. For $25 our seniors will have dedicated lanes for a fun Cosmic Bowling event that includes pizza and sodas. Buy your tickets now by clicking the Let it Roll picture.
6. Save the Shoes!
Our TPA is kicking off a Funds2Orgs shoe drive after Fall Break. We will collect any shoes that are in good shape. Worn shoes are fine. Holes, worn-out soles, and damage making the shoe unwearable, will not work. The Funds2Orgs group collects all the shoes we gather, routes them to needy communities, and then pays our TPA for the shoes we collect. TPA will then return the money to Thunderbird High School programs. That is a Win-Win-Win. Please save your shoes and plan to bring them to school after Fall Break.
7. Save the Date - April 6, 2024
We here at the TPA are super-excited about April 6, 2024, probably in the morning. We cannot yet say what is happening, but we can share that something is happening, and you want to be part of that something. Mark your calendar now. Stay tuned for more information.
